EBC Motorcycle Team rider Brad Baker of Mound, MN races his modified Ninja 500 in the Open Twin class at the Flying Dutchman Motor Cycle Club. The Flying Dutchmen Motorcycle Club is a private club located just outside of New Ulm, MN, along the hills of the beautiful Minnesota River valley. Established in 1947 and the club house is an old barn that has been remodeled and they host Road Runs, Hill Climbs and Flat Track Races.
Flat track racing is exhilarating as racers rub tires and shoulders in the turns on the ¼ mile track, reaching speeds of 70mph+. The ‘Open Twin’ class brings bikes of all sorts and Brad races on his $300 modified Kawasaki Ninja against Harley’s, Indian’s, BMW’s to name a few.
When not racing, Brad works as a mechanic and repairs boats, snowmobiles, motorcycles and automobiles.
May 18, 2018: The weather was cool and the clay track was in epic condition on Saturday and a bit warmer and dryer on Sunday. Saturday brought a 4th and 5th and top finish on Sunday was 5th. “Its only my second season racing this type of racing, and I am hooked. I can tell I am getting better since my back tire is showing wear and I am keeping up with the pro’s.”
Brad’s daughter Tricia (114) also races in the Mad Dog and Woman’s Class where she earned a 2nd & 3rd place finishes! Speed runs in the family!
